Title: Yoga & Fitness Supervisor
Reports To: Site Manager/CXM

Classification: Part-Time Hourly
Location: Site-specific

The Yoga and Fitness Supervisor brings this to life by leading engaging and inclusive yoga and fitness programs for the community and ensuring operations run smoothly.

As the Yoga and Fitness Supervisor you thrive when planning, organizing, and coordinating. You know the various components within the Mesa Rim Yoga and Fitness Programs and community, what it takes for them to run together effectively, and you ensure those items happen. You consistently demonstrate leadership, are detail-oriented, and communicate clearly with the Management Team, Fitness Team and Yoga Team.  You harness your skills and expertise to guide, inspire, and develop your team members to be their very best in support of the Mesa Rim Yoga vision. As the Yoga & Fitness Supervisor, you’re passionate about yoga and fitness and are committed to the continued success of the Mesa Rim Yoga and Fitness Programs. 

The What: 

Operational and Administrative Excellence: The Yoga and Fitness Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Yoga and Fitness Programs at their assigned site run smoothly and meet established goals. 

  • Develop and maintain successful yoga and fitness department operations to ensure guest satisfaction at assigned regional Mesa Rim sites. Operational processes include but are not limited to the following areas:
    • Tracking customer attendance trends
    • Maintaining the schedules for yoga and fitness programming, ensuring all classes are staffed
    • Updating Rock Gym Pro calendar(s) appropriately
    • Maintaining the studio, ensuring proper levels of cleanliness and supplies
    • In collaboration with supervisor, revising operational practices or procedures as necessary
  • Regularly audit classes and provide timely and clear feedback
  • Collaborate with supervisor to develop programming that maintains a consistent and diverse schedule of classes that enhances the climber’s journey
  • Develop and implement special classes and workshops
  • Collaborate with supervisor on marketing strategies that will support department goals
  • In accordance with strategic goals, participate in development, planning, and execution of yoga and fitness department initiatives, such as new user growth class attendance, workshops, etc.
  • Serve as community point of contact for yoga and fitness program-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, maintaining adequate staffing, and completing all administrative tasks as needed; update/revise any operational practices or procedures as necessary
  • Collaborate with supervisor to develop and maintain department budget, including labor, labor-related, equipment costs, and revenue-related goals
  • Possess advanced and detailed knowledge of all Mesa Rim offerings (climbing and fitness programs, Pro Shop knowledge, setting, youth programs, etc.) and share this knowledge with Instructors and community

Leadership Excellence: The Yoga and Fitness Supervisor is responsible for stewarding the Yoga and Fitness Program vision and guiding and motivating the efforts of their team in support of that shared vision.

  • Manage and develop direct reports through all stages of Employee Lifecycle (recruiting and onboarding/training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, off-boarding, etc.), following established protocols and Core Values
  • Approve direct reports’ timecards, adhering and holding team accountable to established timekeeping and payroll protocols
  • Serve as Mesa Rim cultural ambassador, consistently demonstrating and holding others accountable to Mesa Rim Core Values
  • Foster team camaraderie and cultivate culture of direct communication
  • Make critical decisions when necessary for the well-being of customers, staff, and the facility, in such areas as safety and emergencies, money handling, and customer experience
  • Maintain on-site presence 
  • Instruct at least one class per week
  • Continue to develop own yoga practice and level of knowledge, seeking a rich understanding of the value of the yogi lifestyle and connecting with the community (peers, students, teachers, and Mesa Rim employees)

Other duties as assigned

Hours vary and minimums may be required according to the needs of business operations at each location

Must-Haves:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must contribute to Mesa Rim Climbing Center culture
  • Must have ability to seek and accept, as well as give, critical feedback in a professional manner
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Must have a drive to grow professionally
  • Must have a 200 hour Yoga Instructor certification
  • Must have at least two years or 2,000 hours of teaching experience
  • Must have at least one year of supervisory experience
  • Must have excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Must have detailed knowledge of all types of Yoga
  • Must have previous climbing experience
  • Must be self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Must be able to work in an organized and transparent manner

Nice-to-Haves:

  • 1000 hours of personal yoga practice
  • Experience developing Yoga Workshop Programming
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification

Employee must be physically fit to perform repetitive physical motions and have the endurance to lead participants through yoga poses.

Yoga and Fitness Supervisor Starting Pay Range: $20-$27
